Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know about our courses, enrolment, access and exams. Can’t find your answer? We’re always just one email away.
Getting started
Who are the courses for?+
Our courses are built for veterinarians and final-year veterinary students — from new grads who want more support and confidence, through to experienced clinicians who want a clear, evidence-based refresher. You don’t need to be a specialist or a beginner; the courses are designed to be useful wherever you are in your career.
Can I enrol at any time?+
Enrolment happens in set intakes rather than all year round. Each course opens for enrolment ahead of its start date, and spots are limited, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the intake dates on the course page so you don’t miss the window.
Is the price for one module or the whole course?+
The price shown is for the complete course — all video lessons, downloadable materials, quizzes, interactive case studies and the final exam. There are no hidden extras. You also keep access to everything for 6 months, so you can go back to your lessons and materials and review them as often as you need.
How do the intakes work?+
The Vet Tribe courses run in guided intakes, which means veterinarians start around a similar time and move through the material within a structured period, with our board-certified specialists involved to support you as you learn. In your first week you get access to Module 1 (Week 1), and a new module then unlocks each week. The material is released in this order on purpose — so you build your knowledge step by step, the way the specialist designed it, rather than jumping ahead. You also keep access for the full 6 months, so if you can’t keep to the weekly rhythm you can simply work through everything in your own time across those six months.
Are the lessons live?+
No — all teaching is pre-recorded, so you can study whenever it suits you (no time-zone clashes or 5 a.m. alarms). Each module has roughly 2 hours of video lessons (5–20 min each), plus quizzes, case studies and articles to read alongside them. Ideally you’d set aside a few hours a week to work through it comfortably.
How the course works
Do I get all modules at once?+
No. Modules release gradually so you have time to absorb each topic before moving on. Module 1 (Week 1) unlocks when your intake starts, then a new module becomes available each week from there.
When are the video lessons available?+
Once a module unlocks, all of its video lessons are available right away, so you can watch them whenever suits you. They stay accessible for the full 6 months from the date your intake starts, so there’s plenty of time to review the material as often as you like.
How long do I keep access?+
You’ll have full access to the course — videos, materials, quizzes and resources — for 6 months from the date your intake starts. Learn at your own pace, revisit modules, and stay connected the whole way through.
Should I keep up with the weekly rhythm?+
It’s a good idea to. The courses are self-paced, but there’s a lot to cover — video lessons, quizzes and case studies each week — and falling behind can make it tough to catch up, especially if you’re also managing uni or clinic shifts. Keeping pace with the weekly module release helps you stay on track, and don’t forget you can send your own questions to the specialists in the community as you go.
How should I work through the modules and quizzes?+
We recommend completing all the lessons in a module before starting the next one. The lessons are arranged in a specific order by the specialist so your knowledge builds gradually, which is why finishing one module before moving on helps everything make sense. After finishing a lesson, click “Finish and continue” to proceed and mark it on your progress bar. The quizzes and case studies within each module are ungraded — they’re there purely to reinforce your learning and help the concepts stick.
My progress bar didn’t update after watching a lesson — what do I do?+
Below each lesson there’s a “Finish and continue” button. Clicking it confirms you’ve watched the lesson and marks it on your progress bar.
Can I access the course on my phone?+
Yes. You can use The Vet Tribe through your phone’s browser or the app, so you can learn wherever you are.
Asking questions & the community
How can I ask questions during the course?+
Post them in The Vet Tribe Community. As you work through the modules, the community is the place to ask questions, share ideas and connect with others taking the course. Our specialists and fellow learners are active there and happy to help — so you’re never working through it alone. A lot of the real learning happens in those discussions, so we strongly encourage you to use it.
How do I access the community?+
The Vet Tribe Community is available on our website and through the app, and your access is included with your course for 6 months. Once you’re enrolled and logged in, you can head to the community space to read, post and connect with mentors and other vets.
Will I have contact with the specialist?+
Yes. As you work through the course you can send your questions to the specialists in The Vet Tribe Community — that’s exactly what it’s there for, and our board-certified specialists are active in it to answer you. So if you’re stuck on a case or unsure about something in a lesson, you can ask and get a clear, practical answer rather than working it out alone. We also share selected questions and answers from previous intakes inside the modules, so it’s worth reading those too in case your question is already covered.
Do I need to opt in to notifications?+
Yes, if you’d like to receive our messages. During the course we reach out to answer questions and remind you of important dates — new module releases, exam deadlines and results — and to send course materials. To receive these, opt in to notifications in your profile by selecting the option about receiving messages from your course instructor and updates on new courses and events.
Materials & workbook
What is the interactive case study?+
Each week there’s an optional interactive case study tied to that module. These exercises aren’t mandatory, but they’re packed with useful information and help you retain concepts by putting them into practice.
What’s in the workbook?+
Each module comes with a dedicated workbook that brings together the lesson content with space for your own notes. It’s designed to look like a textbook when you print it at home, so it’s something you can keep in the clinic and refer back to. You’ll have room to write your own notes as needed, and the workbook stays with you forever.
Can I download all the materials?+
All quizzes, supplementary resources and workbooks unlock alongside each module and stay available for the full 6 months from the date your intake starts. PDFs, workbooks and documents can be saved to your own device. Videos can’t be downloaded — this protects the content from piracy — but you can rewatch them as often as you like during your access period.
Should I print the workbook?+
Highly recommended. Many vets find it easier to write notes by hand, but you can just as easily use the PDF alongside your own digital or paper notebook.
The video plays audio but the screen is black — what can I do?+
This is usually a local playback issue. A few things that normally fix it:
- Refresh the page and let the video fully reload before pressing play
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Safari)
- Clear your browser cache, or open the lesson in a private/incognito window
- Check your browser is up to date
- Disable any ad blocker or VPN
- If you can, try a laptop or desktop rather than a tablet — some tablet settings can block the visual stream while still playing audio
The videos sound quiet — what can I do?+
Some browsers default to 30% volume. Click the speaker icon in the lower-left of the player and raise the level. If that doesn’t help, clear your browser cookies, check your device’s audio settings, or try another device or headphones.
Exam & certificate
Where do I find my exam code?+
Your individual exam code is sent to the email address you used during registration. If you haven’t received it but believe you should have, check your spam folder — and if it’s still missing, email us and we’ll sort it out.
What do I need to provide before starting the exam?+
Before you begin, you’ll be asked for your full name, surname, and veterinary registration number (not required for veterinary students). These details appear exactly as entered on your official certificate if you pass, so please double-check them for accuracy.
How long is the exam and how does the timer work?+
The exam runs for 120 minutes. The timer starts only once you begin the first question — not before — so make sure you’re ready and in a stable environment before you start.
How many attempts do I get, and what’s the pass mark?+
You’ll need to score at least 70% to pass and receive your certificate. You get two attempts, each limited to 120 minutes, and your result appears instantly when you finish.
Is the final exam compulsory?+
The exam isn’t compulsory to access the course, but you do need to pass it to receive your certificate of completion.
How is my certificate generated?+
Your certificate of completion is generated automatically from the personal details in your profile, and only once you’ve passed the final exam. Make sure your profile shows your full legal name so the certificate prints correctly — you can check or update this under Edit Profile before you sit the exam. Your certificate is signed by the course specialist.
I passed but haven’t received my certificate — what should I do?+
Certificates can take a little time to arrive and sometimes land in spam or promotions folders, so check there first and try searching your inbox for “certificate” or “The Vet Tribe”. If you still can’t find it, email us and we’ll resend it.
Payment & refunds
What if the course isn’t the right fit?+
We’ve got you. If you decide the course isn’t for you, just email us during the first week after enrolling — before Module 2 unlocks — and we’ll give you a 100% refund, no questions asked.
Can I split my payment?+
Yes — at no extra cost. You can get started by paying half the course fee today, and the second half is charged automatically a month later. No interest, no hidden fees, and splitting your payment costs exactly the same as paying in one go.
How do I pay my future instalments?+
Nothing to do on your end. Instalments are charged automatically through Stripe to the same card you used at checkout, on each due date — no link to click. You’ll get an email receipt each time, so just keep enough funds on that card around the due date. If a payment fails, the system lets you know so you can update your details and retry.
Can I change the card used for payment?+
Yes. Log in to your account and update your card details there — for security reasons we can’t access or change your payment method for you. Once your new card is saved, future instalments will be charged to it.
My payment was declined — what can I do?+
Try again with a different card or payment method. If it’s still declined, contact your bank to make sure they’re not blocking the transaction. If you’re still stuck after that, email us and we’ll help.
Can I get a receipt or invoice?+
Yes — you’ll automatically receive an email receipt for each successful payment. If you need anything additional, email us with the details and we’ll help; it’s worth making sure the information entered at checkout is correct, since that’s what we work from.
A note on clinical responsibility. Our course content is for educational purposes only and doesn’t replace clinical judgement or individual medical advice. Every patient and case is different, and all clinical decisions, diagnoses and treatments remain your responsibility as the attending veterinarian. Always rely on your own professional judgement, current clinical guidelines, and the standards of care relevant to your workplace and location.
